Local Impact Trip • Joy Meadows Adventure Camp
Make a Difference at Joy Meadows Summer Camp
July 8-11 | 8:30a- 3:30p | Joy Meadows
Westside is sponsoring a week of Outdoor Adventure Camp at Joy Meadows—a safe, fun, and trauma-informed experience for children impacted by foster care and adoption. This camp provides space for kids to connect, heal, and experience the love of Jesus through nature-based activities and meaningful relationships.
Volunteers are essential to making this week unforgettable. Whether you serve with your A2 Group, Area Community, student ministry friends, or come ready to meet new Westsiders, this is a powerful and local way to share the hope of Jesus.
There are no overnights—just serve each day from 8:30a–3:30p! It’s a great opportunity to make a big impact without traveling far from home.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
Camp Counselors – Lead a small group of 3 campers throughout the day.
Station Leaders – Facilitate fun activities like art, nature, or games.
Lunch Team – Prepare and serve meals.
Activity Support – Assist with swimming, games, or camper transitions.
Come be part of what God is doing at Joy Meadows by wrapping His family around these incredible kids and families.
🔗 Registration closes June 15.
Training (4 sessions) and a background check are required. Daily debriefing and opportunities for ongoing connection with the kids are provided. Join us to make a difference in the lives of these children and their caregivers!

Trauma Competent Caregiver Training
Compassionate Care Through Trauma-Informed Support
At Westside Family Church, we believe in meeting people in their place of pain—and we recognize that trauma touches the lives of many in our community. That’s why we’re offering a one-day Trauma Competent Caregiver Training, designed to equip you with the tools to respond with empathy, understanding, and effective care.
This practical and informative workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to better support individuals affected by trauma—from parents and teachers to ministry leaders, counselors, and community volunteers.
You’ll gain insight into:
How trauma affects the brain and behavior
The visible and invisible signs of trauma
Techniques and strategies for trauma-informed care
How to build trust and safety in relationships
By the end of this training, you’ll walk away empowered to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others through compassionate, trauma-informed caregiving.

Parent Dedication is a special moment set aside for parents to dedicate themselves, their child, and their parenting efforts to God. Our collective hope is that when their child is old enough to understand, they, too, will choose to follow Christ and be baptized. As a church, we're standing with you as you take on the responsibility of parenting a child's heart and walking with them as they grow in their relationship with Jesus.

You're invited to a special gathering for the National Day of Prayer at Westside Family Church's Speedway Campus, Thursday, May 1 at 7 AM. Each year, on the first Thursday of May, Americans unite in prayer for our nation’s leaders, educators, churches, and communities.
Join pastors, leaders, and congregation members as we follow the prayer guide from the National Day of Prayer Task Force. We’ll pray as one large group and also break into small groups to pray over key areas like government, education, and the Church.

Palm Sunday at Westside – A Celebration of Hope!
Join us on Palm Sunday, April 13th, for a meaningful and joy-filled day as we celebrate the true reason for Easter—Jesus! Our Easter Egg Hunt is designed to engage the whole family with fun activities while pointing hearts toward the hope we have in Christ.
Be part of making Palm Sunday a meaningful and joy-filled experience for families at Westside! We need volunteers to help with our Easter Egg Hunt, greeting guests, setting up activities, and more. Whether you love working with kids, organizing events, or simply welcoming people with a smile, there’s a place for you to serve.

Trauma Competent Caregiver Training
At Westside, we are committed to meeting people in their place of pain, and because we know that trauma impacts so many, we offer a one-day Trauma Competent Caregiver course. This training is for anyone who wants to demonstrate compassion, love, and empathy to their community.
This one-day training offers insight into the impact of trauma on individuals and how it manifests in attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. You will leave this workshop with helpful techniques and approaches to care for individuals who have experienced trauma.
Event Fee:
$25
Check-in starts at 8:30 a. Training will begin promptly at 9a and end promptly at 3p.
