One Life Child Sponsorship

Smiling children from OneLife connected by a red thread woven into a colorful tapestry, symbolizing hope, connection, and transformation.

Transform a Life: OneLife Child Sponsorship

Never in history have there been more children—2 billion children comprise the 7 billion people living on our planet. Many of these children live in developing countries without clean water, sufficient food, safe shelter, an adult advocate, medical care, or access to education. Even more heartbreaking, too many have little opportunity to experience the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. Orphaned, homeless, and vulnerable, they face daily struggles and hopelessness.

You can make a difference. Through OneLife, your commitment of just $42 per month can transform a child’s life—providing food, shelter, education, healthcare, and spiritual guidance. Sponsor a child online or stop by the Commons during church to make a personal connection and bring hope to a life in need. Stand in the gap, be part of something bigger, and help a child experience love, care, and a future filled with hope.

Encounter Jesus: The Messiah and His Kingdom

PART 1: Thursdays, Sept. 4th - Oct. 16th • WFC Lenexa Room 218
PART 2: Thursdays, Oct. 23rd - Dec. 18th • WFC Lenexa Room 218

Who is the promised Messiah, the King who will sit on the throne of David? What is His kingdom? What is the character and lifestyle of those who are a part of this kingdom?

In Matthew Part 1, journey through the towns of Galilee and witness Jesus’ miracles—healing the sick, calming the sea, casting out demons. Listen as He teaches about the Kingdom of Heaven and calls His followers to live by a higher standard. This study brings you face-to-face with the long-awaited Jewish Messiah and invites you to evaluate: Does my life reflect the values of His kingdom?

In Matthew Part 2, dive deeper into the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Explore how people responded to Him, why His message provoked such strong reactions, and what ultimately led to the cross. Reflect on the power of the resurrection in your own life and accept the challenge to boldly share the gospel. If Jesus came today, would He be recognized?

Facilitator | Stacey Sprecker & Leslie Pruitt

Childcare is available. Drop-off begins at 9:15am each week.

Explore Faith Together: Kids Essentials Classes

November 5, Salvation & Baptism • November 12, Communion

We love that our kids ask questions; it means they are growing in stature, awareness, and knowledge. Sometimes, they ask questions we know the answers to, and sometimes, we might know the answer but find it hard to answer in a way they will understand. In Westside Kids Ministry, we get asked a lot of questions, and we love to take time to answer their questions thoroughly. Sometimes, we need more time to converse and discuss the questions. This November, we would like to invite kids (1st-5th grade) and their parents to a salvation/baptism/communion class.

This will be a two-week course to discuss salvation, baptism, and why we take communion. You and your child will learn the meaning of salvation, baptism, and communion, why each is important, and do so in a fun, family-friendly environment. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and, hopefully, many answers to the questions of salvation, baptism, and communion.

Parent Dedication at Westside Family Church

Parent Dedication is a special moment set aside for parents to dedicate themselves, their child, and their parenting efforts to God. Our collective hope is that when their child is old enough to understand, they, too, will choose to follow Christ and be baptized. As a church, we're standing with you as you take on the responsibility of parenting a child's heart and walking with them as they grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Give the Gift of Life: Community Blood Drive

Donating blood is one of the most impactful ways to support those in need. Blood cannot be manufactured—it must be given by generous, healthy donors like you. Whether you're a regular donor or giving blood for the first time, your donation can save lives.

Join us for the Community Center Blood Drive at Westside Family Church on Monday, August 11. By donating, you’ll help support cancer patients, mothers facing pregnancy complications, accident and trauma victims, and many others whose lives depend on blood transfusions.

If you're in good health and eligible to donate, we invite you to be part of this life-saving mission. Together, we can make a powerful difference in our community.

Join us in your next steps at Alpha. Where you can come with as many questions as you want to learn more about loving, becoming, and sharing Jesus.

Alpha: Explore Life, Faith, and Meaning

Tuesdays, Sept. 9-Nov. 11 • 6-7:45p • WFC Lenexa Room 201

What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What's the purpose of life? What's next?

If you're looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions and share your own opinion, there's a place for you.

  • Connection
Connecting with others is what we were made for. All sessions start with a time to connect and build friendships, eliminating awkwardness and creating space for important conversations.

  • Content
Alpha’s content explores the big questions we all ask, and guests from any background can unpack the basics of Christian faith. Bring your questions, you’ll find you’re not alone.

  • Conversation
Those who attend Alpha share that their small group discussions are hands-down the best part of the experience. No questions are off limits, and there’s nothing you can’t say (really).

Childcare is available for ages infant - 5th grade. (please fill out the online form within the signup link).
