YA Second Saturday is a monthly dinner gathering for young adults ages 18–29 who want to grow in faith, build genuine community, and deepen their relationship with God. Each month, we come together for a shared meal, meaningful conversation, and connection with other young adults navigating life and faith together.

Whether you’re new to Westside or have been around for a while, this is a welcoming space to meet like-minded peers, form friendships, and grow spiritually in a relaxed, authentic environment.

Explore Faith Together: Kids Essentials Classes

March 4, Salvation & Baptism • March 11, Communion

We love that our kids ask questions; it means they are growing in stature, awareness, and knowledge. Sometimes, they ask questions we know the answers to, and sometimes, we might know the answer but find it hard to answer in a way they will understand. In Westside Kids Ministry, we get asked a lot of questions, and we love to take time to answer their questions thoroughly. Sometimes, we need more time to converse and discuss the questions. This March, we would like to invite kids (1st-5th grade) and their parents to a salvation/baptism/communion class.

This will be a two-week course to discuss salvation, baptism, and why we take communion. You and your child will learn the meaning of salvation, baptism, and communion, why each is important, and do so in a fun, family-friendly environment. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and, hopefully, many answers to the questions of salvation, baptism, and communion.

Serve Together: Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope

Looking for a meaningful way to spend your Saturday morning? Join us for Something to Eat KC, a high-energy event designed to be fun and accessible for all ages! This is the perfect opportunity for your kids and family to serve side-by-side, making a tangible difference right here in our city.

In the Kansas City area, 1 in 8 people struggle to access enough food, including 1 in 6 children. This citywide event invites you to help change those numbers by packing nutritious meals for our neighbors facing food insecurity. Whether you’re packing meals or learning about the biblical call to justice, your group will grow in faith and understanding of what it means to love and serve others.

Let's come together to serve our community—one meal at a time. All ages are welcome!

Alpha: Explore Life, Faith, and Meaning

What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What's the purpose of life? What's next?

If you're looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions and share your own opinion, there's a place for you.

• Connection
  Connecting with others is what we were made for. All sessions start with a time to connect and build friendships, eliminating awkwardness and creating space for important conversations.

• Content
  Alpha’s content explores the big questions we all ask, and guests from any background can unpack the basics of Christian faith. Bring your questions, you’ll find you’re not alone. 

• Conversation
  Those who attend Alpha share that their small group discussions are hands-down the best part of the experience. No questions are off limits, and there’s nothing you can’t say (really).

Discover the God Revealed Through Jesus

“Loving Jesus” is an eight-week immersion in the life of Christ, focusing on the Gospel of John.  We will learn how to see God’s character through the life and character of Jesus. Through that, we will learn to more deeply receive the transformational love of God and reflect that love to those around us. This experience is a must for the new person and all who call Westside home who embrace our mission of “Loving Jesus. Becoming like Jesus and Sharing Jesus.”

A Night of Fun & Care for Special Needs Families

Special Needs Respite Night is a joy-filled evening created just for our special friends, from birth through young adulthood. Hosted by Westside Family Church, this free event features hands-on crafts, fun games, uplifting songs, and a nutritious dinner, carefully tailored to meet the needs of every participant in a loving, inclusive environment.

This invaluable ministry offers parents the gift of time, allowing them to enjoy a date night or create special moments with their other children at home.

We’re honored to partner with families and create a space where every child is seen, celebrated, and cared for.

SOUPer Bowl Bunco | Women’s Night at WFC Lenexa

There are prayer stations throughout the sanctuary to help you experience God in different ways. This is a family-friendly event. There are prayer stations for students and children.
