Going Deeper Conversation

  1.  What you think it is going to be like to sing the Revelation 5:9-10 song to Jesus in this crazy large multi-ethnic choir?

  2. What are your reactions to the conversation Pastor Randy had with Pastor John Brooks?

  3. Consider offering your own heartfelt prayer of confession. Pray about the most appropriate way to share your prayer with other people.

Teaching Notes

Racism is a “Black and White” issue in the Bible

  • Jesus tore down the walls that divide us.

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility…His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

Ephesians 2:14-16

  • A Multi-ethnic congregation is our eternal destiny.

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,     and they will reign on the earth.”

Revelation 5:9-10
