Connecting to God in a relationship has always been central to Westside’s mission, and prayer is central to this authentic connection.

One of the hallmarks of a Westside student missions trip is that students don’t just show up and hang out but they have an opportunity to lead. This leadership opportunity led several students to explore how they can use their S.H.A.P.E. to impact others. Some students also expressed a desire to pursue further education and vocational options in international missions. 

I'm in it for the long haul with Jesus on this. I'm going to live free of shame, but I know it won't happen over night.  I'm practicing new ways of thinking and new ways of resting in the gospel, it's yielding different behavior.  But like with all new habits it's going to take awhile of that to become the new normal. 

From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday morning, there is a progression that the church has celebrated for centuries that helps us step into the story as if it were happening fresh again.

The letters our children receive from you are gifts—for many of our One Life kids, your letters are their connection to a family they don’t have at home.

While perhaps a slightly less well-known leader than Napoleon, Dan Chaverin, one of the leaders at Westside Family Church is attributed with a similar adage: “a church moves on its volunteers.”

Recently we were able to extend part of the Westside body across the globe and share this perspective with people interested in establishing faith communities in Kallur, India.

“Maybe you’ve heard the quote that ‘it only takes a small hinge to open a big door,’” Tener said. “For me, The Small Hinge really represents the daily, small things we do both in life and in obedience to Christ…that’s what’s really big in the end.”

Remember when you went to prom? Maybe you were the dashing debonair, asking your high school sweetheart to join you for a special evening. Or maybe you were the lovely debutante, being whisked away by your prince charming.
